Episode 71: Past Decision Trauma
"Past Decision Trauma" is where a person has at least one experience where they had an important decision, and it didn't go the way that they hoped. They're kicking themselves about it + it's impacting their ability to make decisions going forward.
People experiencing Past Decision Trauma will often procrastinate decisions, take a super long time to make decisions, look outward to other people, or over-analyze — because they don't trust their own inner signals. And I'm using "trauma" in the "little t" sense here, because most people haven't been in a war zone, but it still profoundly affects them.
If you have Past Decision Trauma, I share 3 questions in this podcast episode that you can ask yourself to find yourself on solid ground again. I also share some client examples from my How To Know What You Want course + some concepts that I think will be helpful to you.
I hope this helps your current decision-making ability + decision-making confidence as you move forward in life.
For additional information, I reference Episode 60: "How do I make sure it's not 'Grass Is Greener Syndrome'?" (Q&A).
